Means-tested benefits are according to your income and the amount of capital you own – provided that you can prove that your money and income are not lower than a certain threshold, they can be considered eligible.
Do I have to fill out an application?
No. If you’re eligible for the grant, you do not have to apply; it will be paid directly to you.
When do I receive the cash?
The Government has announced that the payments will be made to families in lump sums of two, including PS326 being paid on Thursday, 14 July, and PS324 in the fall.
The tax exemption will not impact the cap on benefits, and it will not affect existing benefit awards.
The Government has clarified that the payment amounts are slightly different to differentiate between the two periods of qualifying payments.

It is easier to establish whether a person who received payment received the correct amount at the suitable date, which will help the DWP quickly identify who received the exact cost, thus reducing the chance of fraud.
Mr. Sunak declared about this grant, and he said: “We know that people face challenges due to living costs, which is why I’m offering additional assistance to reduce the rising energy cost.
“We share a responsibility to support those paying the highest cost for the high levels of inflation that we’re facing.
This is why I’m offering this important help to millions of the most vulnerable individuals in our society. I promised that we’d support people and this assistance does.”
